Prison Ranks
D-Prisoner
Punishment Block, Solitary Confinement, D Block. They are all different names for the same concept: The seclusive area underground, beneath the prison. Your poor behavior was noted by one of the server's AlphaGuards, and because of this you have been sentenced to solitary. PvP areas are abundant in D Block, and your only safe places are the spawn area, the bank, both mines, the block shop, the fishing pool, the jail, and the crafting room. Due to the high amount of illegal activity, Guards will usually try to avoid unnecessary trips to D Block. You will spend your time laboring in the Obsidian Mine, Bedrock Quarry, or fishing at the fishing pool. You have no access to your friends in C Block, and you must rely on the local shop for food. However, word has been going around that there are secret drug shops hidden within a secret passage that leads through the prison's sewers to the outside world! Bring along four of your friends, and you just might have a shot at escaping Bains Penitentiary! However, if you are killed in the outside world, you will be sent back to D Block and will be required to escape again before you can re-enter the Free world. Ranking back up to C Block will cost you 2,500 BP.
C-Prisoner
C Block, the area where you first begin your journey. This is the default rank of convicts, and this is the rank you start off as. This block is the most populated area, which also means that this is the area you must always watch your back in. While Guards will normally be able to maintain the peace, sometimes the Free players will start riots. Due to the large volume of prisoners, PvP activity is also frequent in this block. However, a Guard will kill those who they catch engaging in PvP activity. If you are being attacked but are not fighting back, the Guard will not kill you. Your methods of gaining BP in this block include working at the prison's Tree Farm, Stone Quarry, and the C Block fishing pool. You also have access to the prison's Cafeteria, which will serve free food from time to time. Ranking up to B Block will cost you 15,000 BP. You may also rent customizable cells from here on out, increasing in size with each block you advance through. Only you may interact with the objects you place here until your rent time expires. You may renew your cell before this happens, however. The price to rank up increases with each block, however it becomes easier to earn BP with each block!
B-Prisoner
B Block, the next step of your journey. Congratulations on making it here! Now you need to continue onward to A Block. In B Block, you have less PvP enabled areas, allowing you more protection. You also have three new ways of earning BP in this block - the block's Sandstone Mine, the Dirt Yard, and the Chicken Farm! Now you may also use the outdoor fishing/swimming pool! You may have noticed that the Stone Quarry of C Block did not contain diamonds - however, the Sandstone Mine of this block does! This block's fishing area also contains higher sell prices for fish and cheaper buy prices for fishing rods than C Block did! You may also choose to return to C Block whenever you like to work at the areas available there as well. There is also a larger enchanting area in B Block, located on the room to the right in the bank. You also have private smelting rooms, so now you may smelt in peace! Are you bored? Then you can head on over to the Basketball Court for a few runs! You also have larger cells here - along with longer rent times! Also with higher rent prices, unfortunately. Ranking up to A Block will cost you 35,000 BP. Due to C Block being the more troublesome areas, Guards will not patrol B Block as often as they do C - watch out! From here on out, you also no longer can be punished to D Block - or any other block lower than the rank you currently are!
A-Prisoner
A Block, the midway point of your quest to freedom! You're almost there, don't give up! Now the next leg of your adventure is Elite Block. Now with even less PvP enabled areas, your path to freedom will become even easier! You now have an additional two ways to make BP on top of your ways in C and B Block - the Netherrack Mine and the Mob Farm! You also have a new urban-street fishing pool! Now the cells are even larger and have even longer rent times - with an escalated price, of course. The food and block shops also have a considerably larger selection. With A Block, you also have access to the Prisoner Conference Room! Here you may meet up with your old cellmates, or your Free friends that you've come to know. Also located within A Block is the prison's entrance - closed to you for the time being until you have achieved your freedom! Are you bored even with all of these new things in A Block? Then you can also visit the Ice Hockey Rink, where you can watch or play a few matches with your friends! Do you enjoy being surrounded by knowledge? Then you can be surrounded by hundreds of bookshelves in the prison's library! Ranking up to Elite Block will cost you a flat sum of 65,000 BP. Seems like a lot? Don't worry, making money is easier than ever before! Guards are not allowed in A Block or Elite Block - however you may meet up with AlphaGuards in these areas from time to time.
Elite-Prisoner
Elite Block, the last step of your ultimate goal - your freedom! Since this is your last stop in the prison, you now have access to every area in it besides D Block, Free Spawn, and Donor Block unless you are a donor! The whole of Elite Block has no PvP-enabled areas, so you no longer need to fear the shadows while making a mad sprint to the bank or the shop. You now have 4 all-new ways of earning BP! You may work at the Snow Mine, and fill your inventory with it faster than you can even imagine! You may also work at the Mossy Cobblestone Mine, the End Stone Mine, or the beach-themed fishing pool. Tired of mining and fishing? You may also work at the prison's Pig Farm, where you can decimate the pigs and earn inventory loads of pork! Have you ever heard of or tried Parkour before? Now you may use Tunnel Quest - one of the prison's parkour maps that only Elite-Prisoners and Frees can access! Your cells are also even larger now - and they last for a month! However, such luxurious accommodations aren't cheap - cells are 5,000 BP for a month. You also now have access to the Elite Market - where you may buy and sell almost every block you can earn in the prison! Freedom won't be cheap though - 100,000 BP for your ultimate freedom! However, earning BP has never been easier! With almost every block at your disposal, you now have a large variety of ways to make BP!
Free ranks
Free
CONGRATULATIONS! After hours of what seemed to be tireless work, you have finally saved up enough BP to finally achieve your freedom! Now that you are free, you may finally begin your life in the wilderness! Prison Rules do not apply in the free world, but Server Rules apply at all times! You may also visit the Free city of Omega, where you may access the Nether via the only Nether Portal on the server! You may also make a living by trading with the local villagers located all around the city! Feel like going on a mining trip? You may choose between Omega's 3 mines - the NetherBrick Mine, the Pumpkin Mine, and the Voter Mine! To use the Voter Mine, you must vote for Convicted at bit.ly/bainsvote. Have you collected stacks of mob loot in your time in the wilderness? You may sell your loot at the Omega Mob Shop for higher sell prices than you could at the A Block Mob Shop! Do you favor fishing? There's a two story fishing building in Omega as well! Of course, there is also a large Omega Market - which has a larger variety of blocks than the Elite Market! Are you an alchemist? There's also a brewing building in the city as well! Would you like to rent temporary plots? There's a building for that as well - you can rent a floor for a week! Have you ever wanted to visit a hotel? Then stop by the Jaak-Jaak hotel in the city! With so much to do, you can do something different every day! You may also return to the prison anytime you like to visit your old cellmates. However, Prison Rules must be followed within the facility!
escapee
This is a planned rank and will be obtainable some time in the future. Viper talked of making a few changes to the D-Block Escape, which included making it two player as opposed to four, as well as giving the player this rank as a reward instead of straight up leaving the prison. During the time which it was being announced, Viper listed a few possible features for the rank (many of which are unavailable for the current D-Blockers if/when they escape). The Escapee rank will have access to all areas of free, and will also be able to use the Omega mines, a feat unavailable to the current Ds. They will also have full access to the prison (minus donor, of course) and the quests. However, there are a few drawbacks. When the Escapee dies, they will respawn in D as a D-Blocker. Viper also stated that if possible the Escapees would be killable even in non-pvp areas by players, as well as having a bounty on their heads. Note that this is still in the planning stages and will likely not come out as listed here. These are just ideas stated by Viper that he'd like to see. It should all be coming this winter!
Staff Ranks
Trainee
Congratulations on your acceptance, and welcome to the crew! Now you must prove yourself worthy if you wish to be promoted to Guard. This is your first step - and also the hardest - in your career. Now that you have been accepted, your career begins immediately - starting with C Block, B Block, and the Courtyard. You may now spawn diamond swords and 6 splashable health 1 potions to assist you in helping the prisoners. HOWEVER, abusing your privileges by storing or selling your kits will get you demoted and/or banned. Abusing your powers is general will also lead to you being demoted and/or banned as well. So don't abuse. You may request retirement at any time you like as long as you provide proof of your rank before you were accepted, but keep in mind the more times you retire, the less likely you will be accepted again. If you work hard, follow the rules, and try to help in any way you can, a promotion shouldn't be too far off.
Guard
Your hard work has been duly noted by an Alpha Guard or a Warden. Because of this, you have been promoted to a full-fledged Guard! But it doesn't stop here. Now you must prove that you are ready for the next step in your journey: Alpha Guard! You may now also access Block D to assist you in your quest to protect the innocent. With more new areas to protect, and stronger armor so you can survive longer, you will find that you will have an easier time protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty!
AlphaGuard
Because of the outstanding values you have shown, you have been promoted to AlphaGuard! You are now trusted by Wardens more than you were when you were a Guard. You are now also somewhat like a moderator: You can kick, mute, ban, and warp. (Warping only travels to specific locations; it is not the same as teleporting). You must do your job well in order to be considered for Warden. You may now access every block on the server, including Elite, Free Spawn, the Wilderness, and Omega! Your recommendations will now be much more influential to those who wish to be accepted for Trainee and for those hoping to be promoted to Guard. You are now also looked up to as a role model by the newer Trainees and Guards, so be a good one! You can also install X-ray so you can watch potential X-rayers while vanished, an ability you also have now earned. You may also use the server's broadcast in case you have a message the entire server should see. You may also demote C-Prisoners to D Block if you are required to do so.
Warden
You are now a full-fledged admin. You have access to everything on the server. Now that you've made it, your job is to help players out as much as possible, while still keeping things under control on the server. Wardens are mainly needed for events, banning offline players, updating the C-Foyer, fixing broken signs, glitches, etc. You also now have access to Server messages; such messages are always in pink. You are now also the ones who directly promote Prisoners/Frees to Trainee and Trainees to Guard.
ChatMod
This is the newest staff rank being added on July 30, 2014. ChatMods can talk in color and they have the ability to mute and kick players. There is no way to apply for this rank, it is from a Warden recommendation only. The only current active ChatMods are DaChimp, Galuzer, and redrum_face.
